Project scheduling involves sequencing and allotting time to all activities in a project. Traditionally, project managers construct Gantt charts and network diagrams. Today, MS Project makes our lives easier.
Example
A project to install air filter system involves the following activities:

We can learn from the diagram expected time to complete the project as well as the critical path. Delay in any activity along the critical path affects the whole project. Critical path is marked red in the diagram.
