Sekinchan, here I come…
The rice…
Working in the field…
Little house on the Prairie… oops, I mean little house on the paddy field…
Harvested crops…
Storage for rice Swiftlet farmhouse, and a local cycling past…
The weather wasn’t on my side. I wanted to take pictures of paddy fields under sunset, but it was a cloudy day. I may return to Sekinchan in December, when there will be another harvest season. Hopefully I will have better luck then.
learn about Sekinchan in primary school, but never been there. thanks for sharing the nice photos. I am impress about the rice storage house.
ReplyDeleteI like the paddy fields. :D
ReplyDeleteNever heard of it. My geography must have failed huh. Those are nice shots bro. The one with local cycling really explains a lot. :D
ReplyDeletePerhaps December you'll be more lucky right?
The photos remind me of my home town.
ReplyDeleteI have never stepped foot on paddy fields. That rice storage looks like some monument right smack in the middle of the field :)
ReplyDeletekikey
ReplyDeleteThis was also my first time in Sekinchan.

Actually you can still make it for the harvest season this weekend.
Lovely pictures. Thanks for sharing. I normally see padi fields when I go south but has yet to be in the middle of one.
ReplyDeleteWhat else is there in Sekinchan? It's an unusual name. How big is the town?
Wow, that place is surely good for flying kites! Windy not?
ReplyDelete其实我也蛮喜欢一望无际的稻田,很美呢!如果是出色的摄影师,拍出来的效果非常好。
ReplyDeleteNice paddy field. I like the view. But that rice storage is an eyesore to the beautiful view! : )
ReplyDeletehappy-surfer
ReplyDeleteSekinchan is rather small. Not sure what else it has.
neo
Not exactly windy on that day, but I may be wrong.

The rice storage is necessary.
I've watched a TV show focusing on Sekinchan before. It's nice to know that there's a peaceful place so nearby the city.
ReplyDeleteOMG the granary (rice storage building) is sooooooo tall! Well, a bit jakun here because I've never really been to a paddy field before XD
ReplyDeleteno scarecrow ?

iamthewitch
ReplyDeleteYes, Sekinchan is a nice town to escape city life.

Hmm... is there any rice plantation in Johor?
迷迭香
Oh... now only I remember... I didn't see any scarecrow.
Nope. There are very very few paddy fields in Johor, if any. Everywhere you see in Johor, if you go to the outstation districts, are palm oil trees dotting the entire land. Along the PLUS highway in the Johor side the only cash crop you'll see is palm oil.
