In Malaysia, Tzu Chi collects used stuff for recycle purposes on the third Sunday of every month. One of the locations they operate is SS2, Petaling Jaya. I went there recently to hand over my old clothes. At the same time I also snapped some pictures for sharing online…
Cloth…
Paper…
Old computers and electronic products…
…
Education materials (mostly in Chinese)…
So, do you have old clothes or outdated computers for recycling? Send them to Tzu Chi.
Yes I know this organization too. ;) donated before, twice. :)
ReplyDeleteA Tzu Chi container to store recycled materials was set up just beside my house - and my grandma is the caretaker. LOL
ReplyDeleteheard of this organisation, but didn't know they help collecting things to be recycled..
ReplyDeletei watched a program "怪談" featuring this organisation and i thot they only have that charity SOS team..
ReplyDeleteyeah, i definitely have lots of old clothings and books to be get rid away.. i'm still looking at how i can donate them, thanks for the info..
ReplyDeletei do a lot of donating those kind of stuff.
ReplyDeleteThey are very, very active in Malacca too. :D I even brought my stuff to their centre.
ReplyDeleteThey are doing a great job.
ReplyDeletenever heard of it and thanks for introducing it! i have lots of items to be donated as i did some cleaning over the weekend
ReplyDeleteI have heard of this group who's into recycling. I leave my recycle items at least once a week at a collection spot in my neighbourhood.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good way to help people !
ReplyDeleteWhen are they going to have this event?
ReplyDeleteI know about them. I have sent my stuff and also donated to them. They are doing a good job.
ReplyDeleteAre the old computers and electronic products still workable? What do they do with it? Sell the parts?
ReplyDeleteOh I want to get rid of my old computer! Where exactly in SS2 do they have the event?
ReplyDeleteJulie
ReplyDeleteNot sure what they do with the old computers. I didn't ask them.
foongpc
Near the petrol station.
I understand Alam Flora salvages usable parts and other precious metals from the computers. They pay RM5 for each PC brought in.
ReplyDeleteI know this Tzu Chi group very well and they tried to recruit me once. I do admire their effort and determination.
ReplyDeleteDuring my many trips to Taipei, I was often glued to their Tzu chi's own television channel which ran for 24 hours showing their global activities. Very remarkable and I salute their selfless contributions.
ReplyDeleteIn Taiwan alone, they have like 8 very large and ultra modern hospitals with latest facilities which cater to the needy patients FREE OF CHARGE! Now how many countries could run such charitable private hospitals who rely on public donations? They even fly in patients from disaster-hit countries during earthquakes and tsunami.
ReplyDeleteI hear a lot of stories from their members who are my personal friends and they all happen to be very wealthy people. They changed for the better after joining Tzu Chi but there is something funny besides having such benevolent and charity hearts! Their groups in Malaysia are split into 2-3 gangs due to some minor issues. Now that is not nice to hear since humans should be united for this good cause. I am just being frank...
ReplyDeletewhich part of ss2 is this?
ReplyDeleteanon
ReplyDeleteNear BHP petrol station...
