In July 2008, Melaka (Malacca) was recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO. I went to this historic town recently, and took these pictures…
Christ Church, built in 1753…
Art Gallery…
Fountain, built in memory of Queen Victoria (1819-1901, crowned 1837). It was completed in 1904…
Clock tower…
I like the architecture of the red buildings, because they are simple yet elegant.
More to come. Stay tuned...
anymore pictures for Melaka?

Fully agree with me? Do you mean the architecture?
Nice red building pics.
ReplyDeleteThe red is really eye-catching and probably positively fengshui'd up Malacca.

ReplyDeleteYeah, they are nice.

Good fengshui brings good tourist money to Malacca, hahaha...
Miss Melaka so much. ToT
ReplyDeleteYap. That also one of the fake behind this.
Poor kids... O.o
Planning to go next week to do research on buildings. It would be my first time to step foot in Malacca, after having dreamed for this trip since god knows when. Now with its prestigious World Heritage Site honour, it gies me more reason to visit the state.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think u meant 1837, and not 1937 right? :P

Been to these red buildings many years ago. Its like one of the must-go places in Malacca.
ReplyDeleteBut I can't find the famous chicken rice ball place. =(

ReplyDeleteThe chicken rice ball place is just across the river from the red buildings.
Your pictures are so good looking! Makes them look more antique!
